Tesla Boosts Referral Program with Bigger Discounts on Select Vehicles

Tesla has introduced major changes to its Referral Program, offering larger rewards for both existing owners and new buyers. The move is designed to encourage more sales of high-end models while strengthening loyalty among current customers.

New Savings for Buyers

According to Tesla, the updated program provides significant savings on select vehicles, including the Model S, Model X, and the highly anticipated Cybertruck. Buyers of these models will now receive $1,000 off, while Model 3 and Model Y buyers will get $500 off.

Rewards for Referrers

For those making referrals, Tesla owners will earn $250 in Tesla Credits for each new customer who takes delivery of a vehicle. In addition, the first 10 people who successfully refer someone purchasing a Model S, Model X, or Cybertruck will receive an extra $1,000 discount on their own purchase.

Limited-Time Incentives

The company noted that these rewards are limited to 10 awards per participant, creating urgency for both referrers and buyers.

Program Background

Tesla’s Referral Program has historically included perks like complimentary Full Self-Driving trials and free Supercharging miles. While analysts say it may not significantly boost overall sales, the program plays an important role in rewarding loyal customers and fostering a sense of community among owners.

Looking Ahead

The latest adjustments are among the most substantial in recent years, reflecting Tesla’s broader strategy to keep its offerings attractive in a competitive EV market. As discounts on some of its most expensive vehicles become available, Tesla is signaling a push to increase demand while continuing to reward its existing base.
