I recently purchased the Hansshow swivel mount for my ‘24 Model 3 Highland, and I’m really happy with it. The swivel works smoothly and makes the screen much easier to view from the driver and passenger perspective.
Installation does take a little work, but not because it’s overly complicated…mainly because you really need the right tools. The bolts that hold the original screen in place were tough to loosen with the tool included in the kit, and I even cut my finger trying at first. I ended up having to go to Lowe’s to get a proper ratchet/socket set to break them loose. Once I had the right tools, everything came together smoothly, and the rest of the install was straightforward. I still saved about $350 by doing it myself instead of paying for an installer.
I also really like the comfort aspect. I have shorter arms, so I don’t have to stretch as far to tap the screen or change songs when it’s angled toward me. It makes the cabin feel more personal and ergonomic — like the screen is coming to me instead of me reaching for it.
I was nervous about whether my under-screen storage tray from Amazon would still fit afterward, and it does. It’s a tiny bit looser, but there’s no shaking or rattling while driving. The behind-screen storage is a little more questionable since the screen sits out slightly farther, but the height stays the same as the OEM mount, so compatibility just depends on which organizer you use.
Overall, I’m very happy with the upgrade. The swivel is solid, the usability is noticeably better, and it makes the driving experience feel more comfortable and driver-focused. Definitely worth it.
