Tesla China Working Overtime to Deliver Model Y L as Quickly as Possible

The has quickly become a success in China, prompting Giga Shanghai to ramp up efforts to fulfill the surge of orders for the long-wheelbase all-electric crossover.

This was hinted at by Tesla China Vice President Grace Tao in a recent Weibo post.

Strong Demand for Model Y L

Interest in the new variant has been remarkable. Industry observers estimated that around 35,000 orders were placed on launch day alone. More recent reports suggest that thanks to the , Tesla China may have doubled its usual order volume for August.

Given this overwhelming demand, it’s no surprise that Tesla’s local operations are under pressure to accelerate deliveries. Fortunately, Grace Tao noted that the company is working at full capacity to bring the extended wheelbase crossover to customers as quickly as possible.

“Our colleagues at the Shanghai Gigafactory are working overtime to get the new car to you as soon as possible,” she shared on Weibo.

Model Y L deliveries

When Tesla China launched the Model Y L, the initial estimated delivery time for the first batch was September 2025. Now, the expected delivery date for new orders has been updated to October 2025, which means production capacity for September is essentially sold out.

With its comfortable six-seat layout and a starting price of ¥339,000 ($47,180), the all-new Model Y L is poised to become a best-selling model for Tesla.
