Tesla’s Shocking Lease Discounts Aim to Push Q4 Sales

Tesla has launched an unexpected move in the U.S. to boost short-term demand, offering sharply reduced lease prices for the Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck as the fourth quarter progresses.

The company is cutting lease prices by 23 percent for the Model 3, 15 percent for the Model Y, and 7 percent for the Cybertruck. The new deals are as follows:

  • Tesla Model 3: $329 per month, down from $429

  • Tesla Model Y: $449 per month, down from $529

  • Tesla Cybertruck: $699 per month, down from $749

All leases require $3,000 down, cover 36 months, and include 10,000 miles per year. Tesla’s website also shows $0 down lease prices automatically, which for the Model 3 would be $419 per month, $543 for the Model Y, and $851 for the Cybertruck.

These terms apply to entry-level configurations: Model 3 Standard, Model Y Standard, and the All-Wheel-Drive Cybertruck. Tesla notes that these lease deals are extremely short-term and will adjust on November 1.

While the company has not explained why the promotion lasts only ten days, industry observers suggest it could be a way to gauge demand ahead of possible lease deals in the latter half of Q4. Tesla typically offers attractive deals at the end of each quarter, but this move stands out because it is unusually brief.

It will also be a test to see if customers are more likely to take advantage of these offers now that the $7,500 federal tax credit is no longer available.
